Mr. Godar has spoken on various topics relating to intellectual property at functions sponsored by BAMSL, the Missouri Bar Association, Small Business Center at the University of Missouri-Rolla, National Innovation Workshop and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
He has also conducted numerous client seminars on topics relating to the acquisition, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property.
Professional Summary
Mr. Godar has been actively engaged in the prosecution, licensing and enforcement of U.S. and international patents for more than 25 years. His particular emphasis is in the mechanical arts, including such technologies as combinatorial reactor systems, flow control systems, weighing machines, sports and recreational equipment, cutting and welding apparatus, packaging machines and others.
He is also extensively involved in the prosecution, enforcement and licensing of trademarks.
Mr. Godar currently represents such diverse clients as Cooper Industries, Inc., Duke Manufacturing Co., Kellwood, Kennedy Metal Products and Buildings, Inc., Lincoln Industrial, Sigma-Aldrich, Symyx Technologies and Yamato Scale.
Mr. Godar received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1972 from the University of Missouri-Rolla and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1975.
He is also a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and is a past-president of the Patent and Trademark Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
