Federal District Court Affirms Decision for Premier Election Solutions
On March 18, 2009, a magistrate judge in U.S. District Court for the Eastern district of Missouri issued an order affirming the jury's determination in favor of Premier Election Solutions, Inc. that all of the asserted claims in Avante International's U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,892,944 and 7,077,313 are invalid. The patents covered certain optical ballot scanning systems, and effectively cleared Premier's systems for sale and use for the upcoming 2010 mid-term elections. The case is Avante International Technology Corporation v. Premier Election Solutions, Inc. et al., argued on behalf of Premier by Senniger Powers' Robert Evans, Jennifer Hoekel, and Sara Gillette.
