Tim McBride Discusses University of Iowa, Abbott Lawsuit in Biotech Transfer Week

Attorney Tim McBride is extensively quoted in the Biotech Transfer Week article "University of Iowa Sues Abbott Claiming Humira Manufacture Infringes CMV Promoter IP." McBride discusses the fact that the University is requesting enhanced monetary damages because of willful and deliberate patent infringement. He says that "damages can really fluctuate and you can use a number of different models to calculate them." He adds that the lawsuit "demonstrates as well that universities are forces to be reckoned with when it comes to technology and intellectual property. They don't necessarily roll over easy.
