Inventor of the Year Banquet Held

The 34th Inventor of the Year Awards Banquet was held on February 9, 2010 in Forest Park. The annual event is sponsored by the Patent, Trademark & Copyright Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL). BAMSL honored Kevin Deppermann as the 2010 Inventor of the Year for his contributions in the field of agriculture, recognizing that "his many inventions have provided advances in operations such as: planting seeds via custom planting devices; acquiring tissue samples from seeds; preparing tissue samples for analysis; analyzing seeds for desired traits; sorting seeds based on desired traits; and analyzing liquid formulations for efficacy." Mr. Deppermann has been employed at Monsanto for over 30 years.

Louis Foreman was the banquet's keynote speaker. He is the founder and Chief Executive of Enventys, a product design and engineering firm, and the creator of the Emmy® Award winning PBS television show Everyday Edisons. Senniger Powers attorney Michael Hartley chaired the event. Mr. Hartley is the Vice-Chair of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Steering Committee.
