USPTO Spending Increase Approved

USPTO spending of $2.3 billion for 2011 was recently approved by the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science. Attorney David Crawford comments, "The proposed spending increase could allow the USPTO to prevent diversion of funds and to improve our patent system, which has provided this country with the engine of innovation that propelled it to technological preeminence." If approved by Congress the spending would represent a significant increase over the $1.887 billion that has been approved in 2010. Click here for more details.
